The Adam Elliott Basketball Court Memorial.

Adam's Court a reality...On June 16th, 2007, the dedication ceremony was held for the Adam Elliott Memorial Basketball Court.

Project director Tim McArdle thanked the many volunteers who donated their time to make this project a success. Although he couldn't mention all by name, he did point out a few special people who worked over and above the call of duty. Special thanks went out to Ben Reynolds, Brad Chaffee, Chris Holcomb, Wayne Stephens, and Ben Reynolds Jr.

The Wayne Companies were also instrumental in the project, offering men, equipment and materials at a reduced price.

Tim also thanked Trooper Joe Mecca from the New York State Police for raising almost $4,000.00 from fellow Troopers all across the state.

Also, this project couldn't have been completed if not for the cooperation of the Village and Town of Portville, and also the Portville School District.

Portville Mayor Tim Emley thanked all the village and town workers who gave of their own time to help complete the project.

Tyler Shaw, a classmate of Adam's, spoke of Adam's impact on his fellow students and friends at PCS.

Dave Elliott, saying "This is a speech no father wants to make..." told a story about the family's annual backpacking trips and how Adam progressed each year. As a young boy having Dad carry his pack, to a young man, carrying not only his own pack, but offering to carry his Mother's as well.

As anyone who knew Adam will tell you, he was always there to be of help to his family and friends.

When Mr. Elliott was done speaking, the family unveiled two benches. One inscribed with Adam's Senior quote: "The will to win means nothing without the will to prepare." The other bench says Adam Elliott Memorial Court with a plaque attached. The plaque has Adam's picture on it, and the inscription: "This court is dedicated to the memory of Adam Elliott, a young man who personified true passion, which was displayed through his determination, dedication, and faith in God. On the court, as in every day life, Adam's drive to play his best was an example for others. Adam possessed an immeasurable dedication to his family and country, the town and village of Portville, and to the people so much a part of his life. May the memories of Adam inspire you."
